Sound Generated Animation Using Processing

Hours of sitting in Processing has finally paid off! I have been attempting to generate an organic image that is reactive to sound using the traer physics library. I was able to generate some interesting images.

Using Tones: This image was creating using basic tones at various frequencies. The image reacts to mid frequency tones.

Chaos: This image was created using a chaotic sound file with beats and multiple frequency tones.

No Tones: This image was created while the program sat in silence.

Those look awesome! I wonder what low frequency sounds would look like? Perhaps dinner tonight at the taqueria to find out??

Those images are cool. I’d like to hear more about how they were created.

Very cool! Do you have a particular aesthetic in mind? I’m curious how you’re choosing parameters.

These definitely seem audio driven… like seeing sound waves… but circular, which is nice… Why and how is it forming a circle? You’ve probably seen Golan Levin’s drawings… I think these are processing. If not, here’s the links. I found these really beautiful.
