Filtered Embrace: Installation
This is the second revision to the installation proposal posted on October 5, 2008. A lot has changed for this piece including the concept. This piece illustrates the changing notions of home that is composed of transitive memories that become blurry with time. The use of transparent material illustrates the layers of memories and faces that become increasingly less clear. The hung object is a placeholder, for a memory, face, object, or a lost soul.
The space will consist of two hanging sections. Each section will be composed of six sheets of transparent material hung from the ceiling to the floor. Each sheet will be hung in a row with an object hung (or standing if necessary) within the hanging sheets.
Materials needed are cellophane, metal rods, fixative, spray mount, paper, wiring, lights, and S loops.
